Agreement and eligibility
These terms are an agreement between you and Summer Jib LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By affirmatively accepting or using Launch Lookout, you agree to these terms and the Launch Lookout Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Launch Lookout. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms and supervise your use where appropriate.
Apple Standard Terms of Use (EULA)
Launch Lookout is licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Launch Lookout-specific terms supplement Apple's Standard EULA. If they conflict, Apple's Standard EULA controls to the extent required for the licensed application.
What Launch Lookout does
Launch Lookout aggregates launch schedules and related information, displays launch sites and modeled trajectories, calculates predicted viewing direction and elevation, presents satellite or spacecraft passes and celestial objects, provides weather context, offers optional camera guidance and screen recording, and may send launch reminders.
Launch Lookout is an independent product of Summer Jib LLC. It is not an official service of, sponsored by, endorsed by, or affiliated with NASA, the U.S. Space Force, the FAA, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey, SpaceX, United Launch Alliance, Rocket Lab, CelesTrak, Space-Track, The Space Devs, any launch range, or any other government agency, launch provider, satellite operator, data provider, or trademark owner unless expressly stated in writing.
Informational and recreational use only
Launch Lookout is for general informational, educational, and recreational viewing assistance. It is not an official countdown, range-safety system, air-traffic or maritime-navigation tool, emergency service, launch-operations system, collision-avoidance system, spacecraft command system, scientific instrument, or substitute for instructions from launch providers, government agencies, emergency services, property owners, or public-safety officials.
Do not use Launch Lookout to make aviation, maritime, driving, hiking, emergency, military, national-security, launch-operation, evacuation, property-access, or other safety-critical decisions. Official notices, closures, weather warnings, navigational information, and instructions from competent authorities always control.
Launch schedules and third-party data can change
Launch dates, windows, pads, trajectories, mission details, statuses, livestreams, and visibility conditions can change without notice because of weather, technical issues, range decisions, provider decisions, regulatory action, or other events. Launches may be delayed, scrubbed, moved, renamed, or canceled after the app last refreshed.
Launch Lookout combines third-party sources that can conflict, be stale, omit events, report estimated dates as firm, or contain errors. We may normalize, rank, cache, reconcile, or supplement source data, but we do not guarantee that any source or displayed result is authoritative, complete, timely, or correct. Check the launch provider and appropriate official sources before traveling or incurring expenses.
Summer Jib LLC is not responsible for travel, lodging, admission, transportation, parking, lost time, or other costs associated with a delayed, scrubbed, canceled, moved, invisible, or incorrectly displayed launch or pass.
Predicted trajectories, passes, and AR guidance
Trajectory lines, vehicle positions, mission phases, pass paths, look directions, elevation angles, visibility windows, brightness, lighting, horizon clearance, and object locations are modeled or propagated estimates. They may be based on official trajectory data, public orbital elements, historical profiles, launch-site and mission assumptions, interpolations, or fallback models of differing quality.
Orbital elements age, spacecraft maneuver, launch profiles vary, devices report imperfect location and orientation, magnetic interference affects heading, and camera calibration or field of view can be wrong. The displayed arrow, reticle, line, object, time, or position may lead, lag, drift, jump, or point to the wrong part of the sky.
The app is designed to direct a viewer toward a general region of the sky, not to provide precision tracking, range safety, targeting, surveying, navigation, or scientifically validated measurements. You remain responsible for evaluating your surroundings and what you can actually observe.
Safe viewing and personal responsibility
- Do not operate the app, camera, map, or recording controls while driving or operating a vehicle, aircraft, boat, bicycle, machinery, or other equipment.
- Stay aware of traffic, cliffs, uneven ground, water, wildlife, weather, darkness, crowds, private property, construction, launch hazards, and other surroundings. A camera overlay does not detect obstacles or establish that a route or viewing location is safe.
- Do not trespass or enter closed, restricted, military, launch, evacuation, exclusion, or hazardous areas. Obey signs, property owners, law enforcement, launch-range personnel, emergency officials, and all applicable laws.
- Never stare at or use the guide to look directly at the Sun. Use appropriate certified solar-viewing protection and guidance from qualified sources for any solar observation. Ordinary sunglasses, a phone screen, and a camera preview do not make direct solar viewing safe.
- Use appropriate clothing, lighting, transportation planning, weather awareness, and adult supervision. Stop using the app if it distracts you or if conditions become unsafe.
Weather, terrain, and visibility
Weather, cloud layers, precipitation, visibility, lighting, terrain, and horizon information are informational estimates from Apple, government, or other sources. Forecasts and terrain samples can be delayed, unavailable, generalized, or incorrect and may not reflect conditions at your exact location.
Weather information never suppresses the guide and is not a statement that conditions are safe or that an object will be visible. Consult current official weather alerts, local conditions, terrain information, and emergency guidance before deciding whether or where to view.
Notifications and Live Activities
Notifications, reminders, countdowns, and Live Activities are conveniences, not guaranteed alerts. They may be early, late, duplicated, stale, omitted, or undelivered because of schedule changes, source latency, network conditions, device settings, Focus modes, battery state, background execution, APNs, backend availability, or other causes outside our control.
Do not rely on a Launch Lookout notification as the only source for a launch time, schedule change, safety notice, or official instruction.
Camera, recordings, and other people
You control whether to start a screen recording or enable microphone audio. You are responsible for recording lawfully, respecting privacy and publicity rights, obtaining required consent, and reviewing a recording before saving, publishing, or sharing it.
Summer Jib LLC does not claim ownership of recordings created with Launch Lookout. You grant no license to a recording unless you intentionally submit it to us, in which case you grant a limited license to host, process, reproduce, analyze, and display it as reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate an issue, or fulfill the purpose for which you submitted it.
Subscriptions and purchases
Some features require a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription, trial, promotional offer, or other Apple entitlement. Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. The localized product, price, duration, trial eligibility, renewal terms, and confirmation shown by Apple at purchase control over earlier estimates or marketing copy.
Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless canceled as permitted through your Apple subscription settings. Trial and introductory-offer availability are determined by Apple and are not guaranteed. Restore Purchases is available in the app.
Deleting Launch Lookout does not cancel an Apple subscription. Subscription features, pricing, plans, or included services may change prospectively subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
Personal-use and service-protection limits
Launch Lookout subscriptions and entitlements are for ordinary personal use and may not be shared, resold, transferred, pooled, or used through unauthorized automation. We may apply reasonable request, refresh, notification, source, feature, or security limits to protect reliability, provider terms, costs, and other users.
Features may degrade gracefully, use cached or modeled fallback data, become temporarily unavailable, or vary by device, region, app version, subscription, permission, data quality, provider availability, and operating conditions.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Launch Lookout for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or safety-critical activity.
- Do not scrape, reverse engineer, overload, interfere with, or bypass security, subscription, rate-limit, or access controls except where applicable law expressly permits.
- Do not redistribute, sell, bulk-query, or commercially exploit launch, orbital, map, weather, imagery, or provider data in violation of a source's terms or intellectual-property rights.
- Do not use the app to track, threaten, harass, surveil, or locate a person, protected facility, restricted operation, or object for an unlawful purpose.
- Do not submit or share recordings, feedback, or other content that violates privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, export-control, national-security, or other rights or laws.
Intellectual property and third-party content
Launch Lookout, its original software, interface, branding, designs, calculations, and original content are owned by Summer Jib LLC or its licensors. You receive only the limited, personal, non-transferable license provided by Apple's Standard EULA and these terms.
Launch names, mission names, provider names, agency names, vehicle names, logos, maps, imagery, video links, orbital data, weather data, and other third-party materials belong to their respective owners or are used under applicable licenses, terms, attribution requirements, or public-data rules. Display does not transfer ownership or imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or official status.
Suspension and service changes
We may change, suspend, limit, replace, or discontinue a feature, data source, provider integration, model, plan, subscription entitlement, or service where reasonably necessary for reliability, cost control, licensing, legal compliance, safety, security, or product operation, subject to applicable law and platform rules.
We may restrict or terminate access for misuse, nonpayment, chargebacks, security risk, provider restrictions, unlawful activity, or violation of these terms. We may preserve limited records reasonably necessary for security, billing, disputes, enforcement, or legal compliance.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Summer Jib LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content or recordings, your misuse of Launch Lookout, your violation of these terms or law, your unsafe conduct, trespass, or your violation of another person's rights.
No warranties
Launch Lookout is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summer Jib LLC disclaims express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, and error-free operation.
We do not warrant that any launch, trajectory, pass, object, alert, weather condition, map, terrain result, direction, elevation, visibility estimate, livestream, recording, or data source will be available, timely, accurate, complete, current, visible, safe, or suitable for your circumstances.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summer Jib LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for personal travel costs, missed launches, missed alerts, lost recordings, lost data, lost profits, lost goodwill, service interruptions, property damage, personal injury, or third-party actions arising from or related to the app, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Summer Jib LLC's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for Launch Lookout during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 USD if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limits, so some of these provisions may not apply to you.
Dispute resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, and opt-out
Please contact admin@summerjib.com first so we can try to resolve a concern informally. To the fullest extent permitted by law, unresolved disputes arising from Launch Lookout or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court.
Claims must be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, consolidated, representative, private-attorney-general, or mass proceeding. An arbitrator may award relief only for the individual claimant and only as needed to resolve that claim.
Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court and may seek appropriate court relief for intellectual-property misuse, unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, security abuse, or other misuse that could cause immediate harm.
You may opt out of this arbitration and class-waiver section by emailing admin@summerjib.com within 30 days after first accepting these terms. Include your name, identify Launch Lookout, and clearly state that you opt out of arbitration.
Nothing in this section limits non-waivable consumer, regulatory, or statutory rights. If a provision is unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, the remainder will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Wyoming law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction remain available where they cannot lawfully be waived.
Force majeure, assignment, and severability
Summer Jib LLC is not liable for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including launch-provider changes, government action, range decisions, weather, natural disasters, network or satellite outages, provider outages, labor disruptions, war, terrorism, public-health events, security incidents, platform changes, or data-source restrictions.
You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Launch Lookout, its providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version with a revised date and provide additional notice or request renewed acceptance where required.
Questions about these terms can be sent to admin@summerjib.com.
